Lastly, the World Series is upon us, and the Philadelphia Phillies are going up against the New York Yankees. This is going to be a major battle. Will A Rod have any more “A bombs” or will he fall victim to the strong Phillies pitching lineup. Will Ryan Howard continue to smash the ball out of the park? Will the Phillies batting lineup conquer the likes of CC Sabathia? These are all questions that will be answered in the near future. Of course, being located in Philadelphia we have a vested interest in the series. Make sure you don’t miss that too!
Philadelphia Phillies and Contest Insurance
The Phillies are on a definite roll. The Los Angeles times summed it up perfectly when they reported that “Brad Lidge retired Troy Tulowitzki for the final out for the second straight night, sending Philadelphia to the NL championship series with a 5-4 win over the Colorado Rockies.”
The LA Times online article goes on to report that “Lidge's second save Monday — the other came just past midnight in Game 3 — was sweet redemption for the Phillies closer who went from perfect a year ago to perfectly awful in 2009".
He converted all 48 save chances last year, capped when he struck out Tampa Bay's Eric Hinske in Game 5 to clinch the Phillies' World Series title. But he lost his perfect touch this season — he led the majors with 11 blown saves, went 0-8 with a 7.21 ERA and briefly lost his job in September. Now, he's perfect in the postseason once again.
According to the article, Ryan Howard backed Lidge up by saying, “"I've said it before, people go through ups and downs. As long as he's throwing well for us right now, that's all that matters." The article then reported that the Phillies celebrated on the infield at chilly Coors Field before retreating to the clubhouse for another champagne shower.
"We know we have a long ways to go," Jimmy Rollins said. "So this is the last party.
The Phillies are playing the Dodgers right now as this article is being written. They are up 5 to 4 in the bottom of the 6th inning. It will be interesting to see how the game pans out.
On the flipside, anybody looking to have a baseball contest like a target toss or home run swing should look no further. We are Interactive Promotions Group and we provide the best contest insurance in the industry. We look forward to meeting and working with you!

Philadelphia Phillies win NL East Contest
The Philadelphia Phillie tasted glory when they won they won the NL East Division title. ESPN reports that players doused each other with champagne and beer in the clubhouse and on the field, whilst Fans partied in the stands and Manager Charlie Manuel enjoyed the celebration from his office. This was a great moment for the City of Philadelphia. "I'll celebrate when we get to the big one," Manuel said in the article. A repeat in the World Series would definitely be phenomenal.
The same article goes on to explain that the Phillies beat the Houston Astros 10-3 to clinch their third straight division crown. We also learn that Ibanez hit his career-high 34th homer and Jimmy Rollins had a double and triple for Philadelphia, which is heading to the postseason for the third straight year for the first time since Mike Schmidt, Steve Carlton and crew won three consecutive NL East titles from 1976-78. The article also points out that the Phillies are trying to become the first repeat champions since the New York Yankees won three straight World Series from 1998-2000. The Cincinnati Reds were the last NL team to win two in a row in 1975-76. In the article Chase Utley asked the fans if they were having fun. He then reassured them that “there’s gonna be a lot more coming.
The article then concludes with some interesting game notes at the bottom:
“The Phillies are 31-11 at home since July 1. They were 13-22 the first two months. ... Houston's Miguel Tejada extended his hitting streak to 17 games. ... Ibanez hit 33 homers for the Seattle Mariners in 2006.”

Oprah's Sweepstakes
Oprah Winfrey is definitely known for her generosity as well as for interviewing an endless list of the most influential people in the world. She is loved by many, and hated by few. She recently had a couple of sweepstakes on her website that caught our attention here at Interactive Promotions Group.
The first sweepstakes from her website encouraged participants to embrace the kid in them. It caught the reader’s attention by asking if they remembered their childhood best friend. The opening said:
“Ah, childhood. Life was fun. Fun was your life. And you truly felt alive. Let us take you back to those happy-go-lucky days. Take the quiz, play Fad Face-Off, relive favorite recipes and let the kid in you come out to play. It's all here!”
This immediately brought bout some form of nostalgia and allowed the readers to briefly relive the stress free life of a child.
The next sweepstakes contest was titled: “Who Inspires You To Live Beautifully?” It invited participant to share a personal description of someone who uplifts and inspires them. It could be their sister, teach, boss or husband. According to the sweepstakes website, there were seven lucky winners who received a fabulous collection of O List items, and a Bali bra set designed to make them feel beautiful.
Sweepstakes and Promotions are one way that Oprah gives back. A lot of organizations conduct sweepstakes on a regular basis.
