Ace on a Par 4!
The next best thing to getting a hole in one on a par 3 is doing it on a par 4. Wait a second; acing a par 4 is way better. That’s ridiculous! We at Interactive Promotions Group have recently learned, courtesy of kimt.com, that “a Mankato West Alum is still celebrating after hitting a hole in one on a par-4.” This happened in Mason City, IA. Kmt.com is the website for a channel that covers Iowa and Minnesota.
The stroke of excellence was authored by 23 year old Nick Largent. He boomed a driver on the “337 yard, par-4 number one hole at Norwalk’s Echo Valley Golf Course on August 4th,” according to the website. We also learned that four of his good friends were there to share the moment with him.
“It was kind of suspenseful because there was trouble on the right and left,” Largent recalls. “We thought maybe it went in the water or long and we couldn't find it. Someone walked by the hole and said ‘oh my god,’ are you kidding me. He told me it was in. It was such a neat experience. It was crazy we were screaming.” Nick also said, in his video interview, that it felt that it took them twenty minutes to get off the first green.
His eighteen hole score that day was impressive too. He shot 66. KMT new tells us that Nick is the first assistant at Glen Oaks Country Club in West Des Moines, IA, and his proud parents now live in Mason City and participated in a charity golf tournament on Thursday at Mason City Country Club.
Our congratulations go to Nick. That is a big achievement even regardless of the luck needed to pull that kind of shot off. That’s something he’ll definitely tell his kids children. The WGC Bridgestone Invitational is full swing and the big names are present. Tiger Woods, Sergio Garcia, Padraig Harrington and may others will be showing us their skills.
Lastly remember that we at Interactive Promotions Group provide premier contest insurance coverage that includes coverage for contests outside of the golf world.
